A gift in will to the Environmental Youth Alliance will support equity-deserving youth to become environmental stewards and lead a transition to a more just, sustainable world.

Types of gifts in will:

• Gift of Residue: Give a percentage of the residue (total assets less taxes, debts, and cash bequests) of your estate.
• Specific Bequest: Set aside a certain dollar amount or a specific piece of property such as an investment account or a particular stock.

What to do next
As part of making your will, or revising an existing will, you will likely meet with a lawyer or a notary public. In order to leave a charitable gift through your will, it is important that you include the full legal name of the charity.

A donation of securities or mutual funds is the most efficient way to give. Since capital gains taxes don't apply, EYA receives the full fair market value when the security is sold, and you get a tax receipt which reflects your larger contribution. This allows you to give more and get more.
