Land Honouring

EYA operates on the unceded, shared territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

We honour and thank those who have stewarded these lands since time immemorial, the Nations who continue to care for these lands, and the Elders and Knowledge Keepers who generously share cultural teachings from their Nations with youth in our programs. We also honour the Indigenous youth in our programs who share so much brilliance and their own cultural teachings. EYA recognizes and supports the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action. We are actively working to honour the land in a good way and decolonize our organization through the actions listed below.
