Our 2024 Annual Report is Here!
Take a look at our work & impact last year in our latest Annual Report!
Our hearts are still full from our AGM at Strathcona Community Gardens last month! Over 20 community members, including donors and youth program alumni, joined us to celebrate our success and impact from the past year.
We’re thrilled to officially share with you our Annual Impact Report, where you can read about our work and impact in 2024 if you were not able to make it.
Witnessing the increasing stressors faced by urban youth and their families, we find hope in the movements centring community care, and the importance of listening to one another. We spent 2024 following the lead of equity-denied youth working to build sustainable networks of support, focusing inward to strengthen our internal systems, build strong partnerships, increase the accessibility of our programs, and grow a more supportive workplace.
“I feel more prepared to get a job in the environmental sector as this program has given me insight on the values and benefits of sustainability as well as what the environmental sector looks for in its workers.” – Cultivate youth
Some other highlights include:
303 youth empowered from equity-denied communities.
6 youth employed at EYA for our Youth Habitat Crew Summer job.
494 children and youth participated in field trips with their school.
4,023 native plants were grown by youth. This was another succesful year for our Native Plant Nursery. We distributed 1,178 youth-grown plants across 60 school and community projects, 113 donor gardens, and community events. We also continued our Host-Nation Plant Gifts program, sharing culturally relevant plants with xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations through three Plant Gift events.
We’re excited to see what this coming year has to offer and the impact our team and youth participants will have with the support of local partners.
