Support our Pollinator Campaign! Help us reach our $5,000 target by May 31st.
With the arrival of Spring, local EYA participants–youth with limited opportunities to access nature and participate in civic engagement–are busy getting their hands dirty at our magical native plant nursery in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Through free, multi-week, hands-on outdoor education, youth are growing native wild flowers, plants, shrubs and trees, studying pollinator populations and creating bird supporting habitat across the city.
We have launched our Pollinator Campaign, with an ambitious target of raising $5,000, or 25 new monthly donors by May 31st so we can empower 125 youth to create 20 insect and bird-supporting habitat gardens in Vancouver.
For $20 a month you can be an EYA Pollinator and help support one of these gardens – empowering youth with skills, community connections, and access to nature – while enhancing Vancouver’s urban biodiversity!
Your support would help youth like Ana, 16:
“I feel liberated. Being surrounded by wildlife, being outside, learning about native species and looking at birds has really benefited me mentally. It’s a lot of help with my anxiety. The small group of people who I got to know also helped me relax and take a breather. Being in such a negative place mentally is really taxing and I needed an excuse to be in nature and really just have fun. […] it was a good decision to sign up to this program and not stay holed up and feel constantly terrible.”
By signing up as a monthly donor you automatically join our Pollinator Club. You’ll receive special program updates, a cumulative tax receipt, and an invitation to events in the garden.
