Plant Medicine Gardens

Through EYA programs, youth participants are working together to create plant medicine harvest gardens in Strathcona and Cottonwood Community Gardens in the Downtown Eastside. The gardens include edible and medicinal plants (native and non-invasive species) that will be used by the youth to create salves, teas, and tinctures. These gardens create opportunities for youth to learn from Indigenous Elders and Plant Knowledge Keepers, and reconnect with traditional land-based practices.
