Rebecca is an urban planner by day, urban explorer by night, and outdoor adventurer by weekend. She holds a UBC Master’s in Planning and is currently completing a SFU Certificate in Dialogue and Civic Engagement. She has worked as a sustainability specialist, development manager, and policy planner in the Metro Vancouver region and in West Africa. She is very active outside of the office; recent volunteer roles include twice having been appointed as the youngest member to planning-related civic boards by Vancouver City Council, acting as the Metro Vancouver representative on the Fraser Basin Council’s Youth Committee, and working through ISSofBC with Syrian refugees to develop a youth group for newcomer Arabic youth in Surrey. She never sits still and last summer hiked the West Coast Trail solo and placed 2nd in the Western Canadian Lindy Hop Championships (an annual swing dance competition organized by fellow board member Eileen Jones!).
