From the moss up, Kathryn learned the joys of experiencing the earth’s vitality. She first volunteered for the EYA in 2012, packing seeds. Planting a living wall with residents of the Stanley Hotel, Kathryn was nourished by the connection both with nature and with her fellow gardeners. In these moments a seed was planted, and Kathryn returned to the EYA as a Pollinator Citizen Scientist in 2015, then as a mentor for the program in 2017 as well as a Youth Beekeeping Apprentice. Finding and cultivating nature in the city is a core passion of hers. She now works at Figaro’s Garden (for the former executive director of the EYA!), helping people garden indoors and out. Kathryn joins us with great excitement as a Wildlife Steward this year.
