Jaycee grew up gardening as her mom’s “little assistant” at their home in New Westminster. This early introduction to the world of plants instilled a great curiosity and passion in Jaycee to connect with, learn about and be a steward for the natural environment. She has been involved with multiple community gardens, farmers markets and environmental organizations in Metro Vancouver. Her time working at Douglas College for UNIBUG – a sustainable gardening project – is when she discovered her contagious enthusiasm and interest for native plants and beneficial insects. Surrounded by many teachers and mentors, Jaycee has developed an appreciation and love of learning. Recently, she is delving into herbal medicine with a focus on the many plants found right here on the beautiful coast of British Columbia.
